    Abstract
This study investigates whether gender of the reporter or the source has an impact on the metaphors that are used in media reports on the 2003 war in Iraq. War metaphors previously exposed by other research are explored and analyzed, and a search for newly emerging metaphors was conducted to discover if women's increased presence in the media and the military is impacting the language of the reports of war in the media.
