Do any dietary interventions improve migraine symptoms?
Do any dietary interventions improve migraine symptoms? Evidence-Based Answer: In patients with migraines, elimination diets based on food-related IgG response may reduce the number of headache days and migraine attacks (SOR: B, RCT). Low-fat diets may also decrease migraine headache frequency (SOR: C, small cohort study). Increasing omega-3 and reducing omega-6 fatty acids in the diet may reduce headache days per month (SOR: C, extrapolated from RCT in patients with chronic daily headache).
