Does consumption of green tea decrease morbidity or mortality due to cardiovascular disease?
Does consumption of green tea decrease morbidity or mortality due to cardiovascular disease? Evidence-Based Answer: Green tea consumption is associated with a decrease in low-density lipoprotein (LDL), total cholesterol, and blood pressure (SOR: C, disease-oriented outcomes). Six or more cups of green tea consumption per day is associated with a decreased risk of mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Japanese women, but not Japanese men (SOR: B, prospective cohort).
