Fracture risk increases with subclinical hyperthyroidism. Bottom line: Subclinical hyperthyroidism is associated with increased risk of hip fractures; however, further studies are needed to evaluate whether treatment of subclinical hyperthyroidism would lead to decreased fracture rates.
