Septic tank/absorption field systems : a homeowner's guide to installation and maintenance (2001)
A septic tank/absorption field is the most common onsite sewage treatment system in use in Missouri. Several surveys throughout the state have shown that 70 percent, or 150,000, of these systems are not functioning properly.
