dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to understand the reasons young women choose to stay or leave a STEM Career and Technical Education (CTE) program of study. Eight young women who were first-time students in STEM CTE participated in the qualitative study. Analysis of participant observations, artifacts, and interviews yielded the salient themes of: role models, perception of ability and perseverance, relationships, and roadblocks. | eng |
