    Abstract
Text from Introduction: "This thesis includes a review of the more important literature relating to contagious abortion or infectious abortion that was available, and particularly that dealing with experimental researches on the subject. In addition to this, a somewhat detailed report and discussion is given of certain phases of the experimental work on contagious abortion which has been carried out for the past three years or more by the Department of Veterinary Science of the Experiment Station, in cooperation with the Department of Dairy Husbandry; and in which work the writer has assisted in carrying out the experimental details. This research was instituted to develop more definite knowledge regarding the nature of contagious abortion; and particularly in regard to how the disease may be prevented and eradicated by handling the herd more intelligently."
