Is Helicobacter pylori infection associated with chronic headache (specifically migraine)? Evidence-based answer: Perhaps. Compared with patients without migraines, patients with migraine have a higher prevalence of H pylori infection, especially patients without a family history of migraine (SOR: B, meta-analysis of case-control and cross-sectional studies). Eradication of H pylori may also decrease the disability, frequency, duration, and magnitude of migraine headaches (SOR: B, RCT and cohort study).
