A case of rapid-onset daptomycin-induced neutropenia
Abstract
[Case]: A 75-year old Caucasian female (height, 154.2 cm, weight, 49.9 kg) was transferred to a tertiary academic medical center from a rehabilitation facility for the management of new onset, foul smelling, non-draining, unstageable sacral pressure ulcer measuring 8 centimeters x 7 cm. The patient's past medical history was significant for a recent subdural hematoma, as well as a past
cerebrovascular accident, dementia, essential hypertension, hyperlipidemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
