Folic acid supplementation and prevention of chronic kidney disease
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Bottom line: Folate supplementation of 0.8 mg daily added to 10 mg enalapril reduced the likelihood of a rapid decline in creatinine clearance in patients with CKD. However, whether these findings would apply to a population that routinely eats a diet fortified with folic acid is not known. These findings may not prompt a change in the care of patients with hypertension in countries that fortify their food supply with folic acid.Review of: Xu X, Qin X, Li Y, Sun D, Wang J, Liang M, et al.
