Sun will rise in black
Abstract
[ACCESS RESTRICTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI AT AUTHOR'S REQUEST.] SUN WILL RISE IN BLACK is a single-movement, 16-minute piano concerto written for Natalia Bolshakova and the Columbia Civic Orchestra. The instrumentation is piccolo, 3 flutes (flute 1, 2 = picc), 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, bass clarinet, 2 bassoons (bassoon 2 = contrabassoon), 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 tenor trombones, bass trombone, tuba, timpani, 3 percussion, solo piano and strings. It will be premiered on February 26, 2017 as part of the CCO concert and performed again on March 10 as part of the Missouri Composers Project concert.
