    Abstract
    "During the first and second Session of the Eighty-Fourth Congress the natural gas controversy evolved into a vital national issue. Not only was the issue "hotly" contested in Congress but it was also highly controversial at the state, city and community levels. Actually the issues over natural gas regulation is one of the most unusual controversies to arise in Congress in many years. What makes it unusual was that Congressional efforts were being directed toward eliminating Government activity rather than initiating or fostering it. For, as everyone knows, government trends in the past 25 years have been decidedly toward more, not less, federal business and federal control... "-Page [1]
