What is the best way to follow up a patient after an abnormal mammogram?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Abnormal mammogram follow up is dependent on the BI-RADS classification which uses a 1-5 scale. Routine mammography is recommended for the lowest scores (1, 2), interval mammography (at 6 months) for an intermediate score (3), and biopsy for the highest scores (4-5). A BI-RADS score of 0 indicates an inadequate examination. (SOR A, based on validating cohort studies.)
