Is colonoscopy as safe and effective a screening tool in the elderly as in the general adult population?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Colonoscopy is an effective tool for colorectal cancer screening in adults aged >65 years, and complication rates are similar to those for people <65. In the very elderly (greater-than or equal to 80), the potential benefits of cancer screening may be less than for patients <80. (SOR B, based on cohort studies.)
