Children and Secondhand Smoke
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Secondhand smoke is the air we breathe mixed with smoke given off by the burning end of a cigarette or cigar plus the smoke exhaled by a person smoking. The contaminated air contains nicotine, carbon monoxide, and many chemicals known to cause cancer. Sometimes called involuntary smoking, secondhand smoke is most concentrated in places where people smoke often and the exchange of air is slow.
