What is the appropriate clinical management of patients with Samter's triad (asthma, nasal polyps, and aspirin sensitivity)?

In general, the treatment of patients with aspirin-intolerant asthma (AIA, which includes patients with Samter's triad) follows the same guidelines as asthma patients without aspirin sensitivity. However, aspirin desensitization therapy is associated with significant reductions in adverse sinopulmonary outcomes and may be considered for patients with AIA and refractory asthma symptoms.
