What is the best treatment for migraines during pregnancy?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Little evidence supports the use of 1 treatment over another for migraines in pregnant women. There are no Cochrane reviews or American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Practice Bulletins on the topic. Experts recommend a stepwise approach to use of abortive and prophylactic medications in treating migraines, starting with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) category B medications and progressing to FDA category C medications, after a discussion of risks and benefits with the patient.
