Abstract

The banning of partially hydrogenated oils in food processing by the FDA has led to a search for alternative oil sources with a decreased potential for oxidation. While marketed and founded for use in the food industry, it is only a matter of time before this oil source makes its way into the livestock feed sector. Novel feed ingredients and different feed ingredient processing methods can vary the fatty acid supply in diets.
