Is biosynthetic growth hormone effective for treatment of idiopathic short stature in children?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Treatment with growth hormone increases short-term growth in children with idiopathic short stature. Prolonged treatment can also increase final adult height, although these children will still be shorter than their peers. (SOR: B, based on consistent, low-quality RCTs.) The cost of treatment has been estimated to be more than $52,000 per extra inch of growth attained.
