What is the best treatment for actinic keratosis?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Effective treatments for actinic keratosis include cryotherapy, methyl aminolevulinate-photodynamic therapy (MAL-PDT), 5-fluorouracil, imiquimod, and diclofenac in hyaluronic acid gel. MAL-PDT appears to have better cosmetic outcomes than cryotherapy. Imiquimod appears superior to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and cryotherapy. A combination of 5-FU and imiquimod is also safe and effective. (SOR: B, based on individual cohort studies, RCTs, and case series.)
