The effects of learning centers on academic outcomes during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic
Abstract
During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic many schools were forced to begin the 2020-21 school year in a fully virtual environment. During the pandemic, there was an increased concern regarding the impact of virtual learning on academic achievement and issues of equitable access. Limited research exists on the impact of virtual learning during the pandemic and the impact of interventions that school districts utilized to support struggling learners. This study assessed the impact of a school district's use of learning centers on the reading achievement of secondary students who were identified by the district as struggling readers.
