Asset Accumulation Strategies in 3 New Settlements Communities was a three-year research project focused on the process of integration and economic development taking place in the new settlement communities of Missouri. This project was supported by National Research Initiative Grant no. 2006-35401-17429 from the U.S. Department of Agriculature’s Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service Rural Development Program, (AFRI at the National Institute for Food and Agriculture). The principal investigator (PI) was Dr. Corinne Valdivia; she worked with researchers Drs. Lisa Flores, Steve Jeanetta, and Domingo Martinez, as well as graduate student Pedro Dozi. The project ran from 2006-2009.
