Item Complete genome sequence of desulfovibrio desulfuricans IC1, a sulfonate-respiring anaerobe(American Society for Microbiology, 2019) Day, L. A.; De, León K. B.; Kempher, M. L.; Zhou, J.; Wall, J. D.; Agriculture BiochemistryWe report the complete genome sequence of the anaerobic, sulfonaterespiring, sulfate-reducing bacterium Desulfovibrio desulfuricans IC1. The genome was assembled into a single 3.25-Mb circular chromosome with 2,680 protein-coding genes identified. Sequencing of sulfonate-metabolizing anaerobes is key for understanding sulfonate degradation and its role in the sulfur cycle. CopyrightItem Agricultural Education Program Planning Handbook for Missouri Schools(2003) Garton, Bryan L.The Agricultural Education Program Planning Handbook for Missouri Schools was developed and written to provide guidance and assistance to agricultural educators in planning, conducting and evaluating programs of agriculture in Missouri's public schools. Since the last edition (1997) of the Handbook, several changes have taken place in how programs of agricultural education are planned, delivered, and evaluated. Therefore, the Joint Staff in Agricultural Education recommend that the Handbook be revised and re-distributed to Missouri's teachers of agriculture.Item Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs: Changes for the Future?(2009?) Thies, Deanna LeahAgricultural Education teachers in the state of Missouri participated in the study (n = 320). The purpose of the study was to assess the perceptions of secondary agriculture teachers concerning the current criteria, definitions, and descriptions of supervised agricultural experience (SAE) programs. All agriculture teachers attending their respective district meetings during the annual teachers' conference in the summer of 2005 were surveyed regarding their perceptions of the current National FFA SAE types and Missouri SAE criteria. The teachers also had the opportunity to rank the current Missouri criteria and identify core or essential criteria they deemed necessary for a supervised agricultural experience program.Item Academic Advising in Agricultural Education: Students' Needs & Faculty Performance(2009?) Mounce Smith, Amy Rae, 1978-Undergraduate academic advising is a component of teaching for many faculty in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. Additionally, advising is a very important component of the college experience for CAFNR students. In the Spring of 2008, a study was conducted to assess the importance of selected academic advising characteristics and faculty performance toward these characteristics, as perceived by CAFNR undergraduate students. In addition, the study sought to identify factors that influence students' academic advising needs and satisfaction.Item Factors Influencing Agricultural Education Students' Choice to Teach(2009?) Lawver, Rebecca Grace, 1973-Recruiting students into agricultural education is a critical component in maintaining and growing secondary agricultural education programs across the country. A national study of the supply and demand for Agricultural Education reported that almost half of new graduates chose careers other than teaching. This is problematic as a number of positions either are left unfilled, close entirely, or administrators are forced to hire uncertified or alternatively certified teachers.
