Heath forest as a source of medicinal plants for the Maanyan Dayak tribe in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia: deforestation and its relationship to medicinal plant biodiversity
(University of Missouri, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, 2022) Kissinger
The heath forest in Kalimantan is renowned as a source of medicinal herbs for the Dayak tribe. This study seeks to examine the use of medicinal plants from heath woods by the Dayak Maanyan in Central Kalimantan and to assess the potential of medicinal plants depend on disturbances. The gathering of information on the use of medicinal herbs was conducted using semi-structured interviews. Utilizing the snowball technique, the main informant is determined. Observed forms of heath forest were classified as follows: I secondary heath forest with ancient growth, ii) relatively disturbed young secondary heath forest, and iii) burnt heath forest. Path and square measuring plots were employed to obtain data on the vegetation. The use of medicinal plants was studied using a tabulation matrix. For vegetation analysis, the number of species and the Shanon-Wieneer diversity index (H') was employed as parameters. As medicinal resources, the Dayak Maanyan people use thirty kinds of trees and fifteen types of undergrowth from the heath forest. 24 of 27 species of old-growth heath forest trees were utilized for medicinal purposes. The remaining 12 species of the 17 species of slightly damaged juvenile heath forest trees were employed as therapeutic ingredients. Only four of the remaining five tree species in burnt heath woodlands were recorded as being used as medicinal ingredients. In old-growth heath forests, tree diversity and regrowth index were in the low range (H'=2.6-2.87). The tree diversity and regeneration index of young heath forests fell within the low to moderate range (H'= 1.09 – 2.56). The index of burnt heath forest's tree variety and regeneration is poor (H' = 0.98 – 1.5). In heath woods, disturbance and deforestation affect medicinal plant biodiversity.

Research on the value-added path and management mechanism of the whole agricultural industry chain based on the value network
(University of Missouri, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, 2022) Chaofan, Lei; Talib, Zunirah Mohd; Ruihua, Liang; Sheng-Xian Teo, Brian
The key to fostering the growth and prosperity of China's rural industry is to realize the added value of the entire industrial chain. This article focuses primarily on enhancing the value of the entire agricultural supply chain. Based on a systematic analysis of the existing value-added methods of agriculture and the theory of the entire industry chain and value network, it combines the multifunctional and multidimensional value attributes of the entire agricultural industry—the entire farming industry—under the value network. And put forward the value reconstruction network system and value-added method of "platform ecosystem + agricultural industry cluster," information resource optimization and integration, cultural value fusion, knowledge creation, and information resource sharing, value Internet relationship management, information virtual value chain management, and utilization of Internet technology innovation for driving value chain mechanism, etc., can promote the value-added effectively. Rejuvenate and expand the entire agricultural supply chain. For operation research to help ensure the future success of agricultural value chains, practitioners must comprehend and model the value chain as a complex adaptive system.

Towards integrated management accounting system for measuring environmental performance
(University of Missouri, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, 2022) Al-Tamimi, Suhail Abdullah
The study's primary purpose was to assess whether integrating various IT capabilities into the integrated management accounting system has a favorable effect on environmental performance. Many corporations in the oil and gas industry have experienced environmental conservation difficulties that have led to lawsuits. In most instances, these individuals were unaware of the environmental consequences of their decisions until the hazards materialized. The management accounting system facilitates informed decision-making and enables businesses to meet environmental goals. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to collect data from Iraq's oil and gas industry to examine how integrated managerial accounting systems might lead to improved environmental performance in enterprises by leveraging IT infrastructure and capabilities. Three hundred and twenty-three respondents were surveyed for the quantitative study. Amos was used to conducting structural equation modeling on the data. The research found that both the direct and indirect effects were positive and substantial. This suggests that using integrative technology and management accounting systems in the oil and gas business can lead to Environmental Conservation. Numerous literary and practical merits of the study have been explored. In addition, the limitations and prospects of the study are discussed.

Empowerment of farmer community group in Indonesian village together with students university in fruit plantation development
(University of Missouri, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, 2022) Suswati; Berampu, Lailan Tawila
Due to reduced emphasis on farmer community groups, the Indonesian agricultural sector is not developing. Regarding agricultural education and fruit cultivation, the farmer community faces various obstacles. Indonesian farmers have limited access to the most advanced technology. Therefore, the current research investigates the direct effect of farmer access to technology, farmer education, and novel agronomic methods on developing fruit plantations in Indonesia. In addition, this study aimed to examine the moderating effect of university agricultural research on farmer access to technology, farmer education, and innovative agronomic practices. This study's design is cross-sectional, and its population consists of Indonesian farmers. The results demonstrated that Indonesian farmers are interested in gaining access to new technology, education, and agronomic approaches for fruit plants. This research is founded on an original model that addresses a research gap and substantially contributes to the body of knowledge. The outcomes of this study have significant practical and theoretical consequences that are crucial for effective implementation. Additionally, this research includes limitations highlighted in the future directions section to present agriculture research researchers with a path forward.
