Can we achieve worldwide food security? : the science, sociology, economics and politics behind food production, sustainability and access
(University of Missouri, 2012) Scroggs, Cathy; Deaton, Brady J.; Wolfe, Timothy M.; Bond, Christopher S.; Djalal, Dino Patti, 1965-; Beachy, Roger N.
The inaugural MU Christopher S. "Kit" Bond Distinguished Lecture, moderated by former U.S. Sen. Bond, featured a panel discussion with honored speakers Dino Patti Djalal, ambassador to the United States for the Republic of Indonesia, and Roger Beachy, president emeritus of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis. Food security is a complex topic with many dimensions. In simple terms, it is the availability of food and one's access to it. Bond Lecture participants will discuss contributing factors to food insecurity and possible solutions to ensure safe and nutritious food for people worldwide.
