Abstract

This newsletter corresponds with Lesson 7 of the Show Me Nutrition Third Grade curriculum. Advertising is embedded in everyday life. This newsletter provides tips on explaining advertising to children and how to discuss its intended effects. Families are also encouraged to discuss self-image with children, and are provided with suggestions of how to reinforce a positive attitude and self-image.
