Abstract
"The Mizzou BioJoint Center, a new service line at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, does surgical procedures on joints that insurance companies often label as 'experimental' and fail to authorize. This project's aim was to create a process that would reduce denials, increase patients communication and satisfaction, create a way for the entire team to work together, decrease the need for peer to peer calls and appeal letters, and ultimately, decrease denials and increase revenue."--Background.
