Pathology and the anatomical sciences form a bridge between the basic sciences and clinical medicine. Anatomical sciences encompasses the understanding of the structure and function of the body; pathology is a discipline that deals with all aspects of human disease. In the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri, Pathology and Anatomical Sciences is a single department. Faculty in the department teach and conduct research in the anatomy, cell biology, pathology and laboratory medicine.
